Sew Grateful week giveaway: vintage instruction pamphlets

sewingbooklets
Hiya! The lovely Debi at My Happy Sewing Place is hosting her third annual Sew Grateful week this week, and I wanted to get in on the fun by offering a giveaway today. I’ve got three vintage sewing pamphlets to give away to a commenter. I picked these up at a FabMo distribution and they just make me smile, not to mention have lots of good info. Two are from 1960, from Singer: How to Make Zipper Closures, and How to Lay Out a Pattern and Cut.

The third is from the 1970s, “How to Sew a Knit.” It was produced by Trevira, which was a brand of polyester: “the many-splendored polyester,” or so the booklet says.

I will happily send these worldwide; please make sure your comment includes your email address or is linked to a way to contact you.

  1. How interesting it would be to read and see what has changed over the past 40 – 50 years! Image what they will be doing with zippers in another 50 years time!!!
Thanks for popping my name into this giveaway … J

  2. What cute little pamplets! I’d love to be part of the draw. You can reach me through my blog, and I’ve got a giveaway on too- stop by and see if you’re interested!

  3. Oooh, these look very informative! I would be happy to be entered. I am hosting a sew grateful giveaway on my blog as well, if you are interested. And am so delighted that I’ve found your blog as I am a new sewer and a long-time gardener, so I imagine we would have much to share and enjoy! Looking forward to it 🙂
